"Gyodai Issen" is a portable lamp made during the Showa period. The washi paper used for the wooden frame is "Sukiya paper", which is made by incorporating the fibers of the Kaji tree, including the outer layer, which is usually removed. The expressive paper, which makes use of the texture of the fibers, inherits the spirit of "Sukiya-zukuri" and embodies simple yet refined beauty.
