This is a "brass mokko-shaped three-legged flower stand," crafted from brass into the shape of a flowering quince (mokko) and supported by three legs. The stand is designed to beautifully accentuate any piece placed upon it, combining a deck with soft, flowing curves with dignified legs.

The deck's edges are slightly raised, following the contour of the swelling mokko shape, with a single line encircling the inner surface. The legs are individually attached to the deck with rivets; the small rivet heads visible from above add a subtle touch to the clean surface. It possesses a calm appearance—neither too flashy nor understated—that blends seamlessly with both Japanese and Western interiors.

It can be used not only as a stand for a flower vase in a tokonoma alcove but also for incense burners, decorative objects, or as an accent in entryways and on shelves. Simply placing it in a room creates a unique "scene" and brings a crisp, refined look to the space.

Having aged over many years, the brass has acquired a subdued luster not found in new items, and it will continue to develop a deeper character with careful maintenance. The underside is inscribed with the signature "Masakatsu Hachiya Saku." This piece is highly recommended for those who cherish the time spent arranging seasonal flowers.

*As this is a vintage item, it exhibits tarnish, uneven coloring, fine scratches, and spot-like discoloration characteristic of aged brass. Please also note that brass may change in color and luster over time due to exposure to air and natural oils from the skin. We kindly ask for your understanding in appreciating these unique characteristics of aged metal.
